Support Directors' efforts to analyze and acquire new development sites for residential and mixed-use projects in urban and suburban submarkets throughout the Midwest and Mountain regions.
Collect and manage data needed to cover submarkets throughout the regions (e.g., performance metrics for stabilized properties and properties under lease up, transactional data on acquisitions and dispositions, financing data to inform assumptions about capitalization of projects (debt and equity)).
Underwrite development opportunities in standard Greystar proformas.
Assist Directors in creating investment proposal packages for Greystar's investment committee
Assist Directors in creating investment proposal packages for external investment partners (debt and equity).
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare and create equity and financing packages summarizing the highlights, requirements, market information, and other financial data for corporate decisions.
Completes and prepares rolling 5-year strategic plan, coordinates underwriting process for large and opportunistic transactions, and oversees investment and co-investment programs.
Prepares and reviews budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents and researches and resolves discrepancies as necessary.
Performs market surveys for due diligence by preparing metrics, comparing and analyzing data, and finalizing roll-ups for audits.
Completes various financial, accounting, administrative, and other reports and analysis, and performs other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
1-5 years of financial analysis work experience
Employment history that demonstrates the application and usage of an accounting and financial background sufficient to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports in accordance with accounting, finance, budgeting, and cost control principles.
A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the application and usage of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in order to prepare and explain financial data to board members, senior managers, staff, and internal and external auditors.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills; including vlookups and pivot tables. Macros are a plus!
Understanding of real estate and/or financial asset underwriting practices and methods
Ability to multi-task with great organizational skills
Project and time management; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Exceptional attention to detail
Goal driven self-starter with the ability to work independently
Good interpersonal skills
Willing to travel, if needed.
Multi-family real estate industry experience highly preferred!
