Provide administrative, accounting, and logistical support for the Dell Medical School Office of Finance.
Process financial transactions for the Dell Medical School including, but not limited to, travel authorizations, travel reimbursements, budget transfers, vendor setups, and authorizations for individual services. Process departmental Purchase Orders and PO payments. Process pro-card vouchers and cash/check deposits. Be the point contact for all AP related inquiries and follow up with original requestors for status of requests. Work with Financial Analyst to ensure DEFINE departmental coding is accurate for all accounts. Ensure consistent application of all departmental, University, and UT systems policies and procedures across all departments.
Other related functions as assigned.
Bachelor's degree and one year of related experience OR, high school graduation or GED, and five years of related experience. Prior experience with financial reimbursement and/or purchasing systems. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated excellent analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and critical thinking skills. Ability to multi-task, operate successfully under high-pressure situations. Ability to work efficiently, accurately, and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and respond to faculty and staff tactfully, clearly, and concisely. Outstanding organizational and time-management skills. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various delicate, formal, or urgent situations. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Experience with and knowledge of UT policies, procedures and systems including DEFINE, FRMS, Point Plus, SciQuest. Experience working effectively within UT's administrative infrastructure. Experience with business support functions in a university academic department or executive office. Prior experience in an academic department, working with faculty. Experience with University of Texas administrative policies. Over five years of experience in a healthcare, higher education, and/or academic medical setting. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
